Chisa UMEMIYA,
Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES)

Residence: Japan

Expertise: Forestry and Other Land Use, Mitigation Actions

Additional language skills: Japanese

I develop and update the printed and on-line versions of the IGES’s “One Hundred Questions and Answers about MRV,” which is an easy-to-understand guidebook about existing MRV schemes under and beyond the UNFCCC. I have around ten years of working experience with capacity building support and research in the field of GHG inventories, REDD-plus and MRV for market-based mechanisms in Asia.

An expert alone or an organization alone can do little. But combining expertise and experience each individual has wisely we can scale up effective capacity-building for a longer term. That is why I would like to join the Coalition.

Chisa has been nominated to the UNFCCC Roster of Experts.
