I hold a master’s degree in environmental engineering and a Ph.D. in transport economics (Technical University of Berlin). I have more than 20 years of international experience in working on climate change policies (e.g. as former UNFCCC Review Officer), action plans (NAMAs, LEDS, NDCs (e.g. in Costa Rica, Jordan etc.)) and transparency framework (reporting and review, MRV systems). I am familiar with climate change and its repercussions in the corporate world (Wuppertal Institute, First Climate). I had excellent opportunities to gain a deeper understanding of developing-country government dynamics (e.g. as former UNIDO CTCN Climate Technology Manager) and climate finance (e.g. on NAMA financing and GCF readiness). I have extensive experience in working as a team leader in projects of larger size and complexity (e.g. as former GIZ Director) and in project management (as active member of the German Association for Project Management GPM-IPMA). My goals are decarbonization and sustainability.

Harald is former review officer with UNFCCC and has coordinated more than 60 reviews. He is a board member of the Zurich Carbon Market Association and an active member of the German IPCC Community.
