I have coordinated the preparation of national communications, including greenhouse has inventories, and aspects related to both mitigation and adaptation. I have been part of the UNFCCC review process since 2005.

I have reviewed the GHG inventories, National Communications, and Forest Reference Emission Levels (FRELs) of a number of countries. I was lead author on two IPCC publications on GHG inventory guidelines and methodologies: the 2006 IPCC Guidelines for GHG Inventory Methodology and the IPCC 2013 Revised Supplementary Methods and Good Practice Guidance Arising from the Kyoto Protocol. I have served as member and co-chair of IPCC EFDB (Emission Factor Database) for a number of years.

I am joining the Coalition to contribute to building sufficient technical and institutional capacities in developing countries to enable them to strengthen their MRV systems and to be able to perform high quality reporting in the context of their national circumstances and participate effectively in review and verification processes in the implementation of the Paris Agreement. Building the required capacity to effectively implement the transparency provisions of the Paris Agreement is key to building ambition and achieving its purpose and the objective of the Convention.

Nagmeldin is an author on the IPCC Guidelines, a lead reviewer for the UNFCCC, and has been nominated to the UNFCCC Roster of Experts.
