I am an environmental scientist from Comenius University, Bratislava, Slovakia. I served as an Associate Professor at San Marcos University in Lima, Peru for environmental pollution and natural resource management. I also taught at Universidad Nacional de Ingeniería, Universidad Nacional Federico Villareal and others. I am a former Board Member of the Peruvian Chemical Society and a member of the Peruvian Academy of Health. I am a member of the IPCC Bureau as Co-Chair of the Task Force on National Greenhouse Gas Inventories. I have been a member of the Executive Board of the Clean Development Mechanism since 2012, elected Chair in 2016, having served as a negotiator on climate change issues since 1996.

I have advised on environmental issues to the National Council on Environment of Peru, the Peruvian Ministries of Agriculture, Housing, and Foreign Affairs. Has chaired or co-chaired debates of groups on Bunker fuels, Impacts of Response Measures, the Clean Development Mechanism and IPCC Procedures in the climate change negotiations.

I am a reviewer of Annex I Countries’ National Inventories in National Communications and member of the team for the Technical Analysis of the Biennial Update Reports of Non-Annex I Countries. I have also trained greenhouse gas inventory experts in the industrial process and products use and waste sectors in Africa, Asia and Latin America and the Caribbean.

Eduardo is a lead reviewer for the UNFCCC and a member of the IPCC Bureau as Co-Chair of the Task Force on National Greenhouse Gas Inventories.
