Expertise: Agriculture, Forestry and Other Land Use, Mitigation Actions, Adaptation, Projections

Additional language skills: Pilipino

I have delivered capacity building activities on national GHG inventories for Southeast Asian countries (i.e. Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam), and Bangladesh.

For 7 years (2007-2014), I served as the Project Coordinator of the UNFCCC-USEPA “Regional capacity building project for sustainable national greenhouse gas inventory systems in Southeast Asia.” For 2 years (2011-2013), I served as the Team Leader of the EU funded Project on “Capacity building on monitoring, reporting, and verification of greenhouse gas emissions and actions in developing countries (Indonesia and Mexico).” I am currently serving as Consultant on capacity building in Southeast Asian countries with funding from USAID and USEPA.

I was a Programme Officer of the IPCC-NGGIP who was responsible for coordinating the compilation of the IPCC 2006 Guidelines AFOLU sector.

I fully agree with the mission of the Coalition, particularly on the need to consolidate and coordinate all capacity building efforts in support of the Paris Agreement.

Leandro is an author on the IPCC Guidelines, a lead reviewer for the UNFCCC, and has been nominated to the UNFCCC Roster of Experts.
